Garod Tube Radio 4A1 1947 vintage plastic tube battery-operated portable radio

Vintage 1947 ish Garod Tube Radio 4A1 Airline Brooklyn NY USA. This is a Garod alligator plastic tube battery-operated portable radio. Model 4A1 . As with all vintage items there will be some wear and cosmetic issues due to its age.  Not sure if this radio is in working condition.

I read on an antique radio forum that an online store called tube and more dot com sells all sorts of supplies for old radios.
This is a portable battery-powered tube radio from the 1940s. It came before the transistor radio.
Has metal case with a maroon brownish plasticon top & bottom cover. The face plate of this radio is reverse-painted in gold. The tuning dial is also a great feature in this old-school gem. 6.5"X 4"X 3 1/4"
